Improving AcademicsJC is committed to ensuring that every student is provided with various opportunities to grasp concepts that are presented in the classroom during regular school hours. Through our summer programmes, extra lessons and tutoring we are confident we will close the student achievement gaps.
Effective Management “Organisation doesn't really accomplish anything. Plans don't accomplish anything, either. Theories of management don't matter much. Endeavours succeed or fail because of the people involved. Only by attracting the best people [ideas and partnerships] will you accomplish great deeds”

Collin Powell – former US secretary of State
Conducive Environment Our aim is to establish and maintain an environment for students, teachers and administrators that, inter alia, boosts school spirit, improves psycho-social well being, provides clean physical surroundings and engages parents in the overall academic experience.
Employee Satisfaction Development. Professionalism. High Morale. These are the cues that guide our thinking in this area, and with that we seek to have a system that will identify and improve the human resources needed for a first class institution of learning.
Stronger Partnerships When we use the word 'partnerships' we mean, engaging the business and community networks and bringing them closer to our boys as a means of exposing them to the world beyond the class room. The lessons they learn from these interactions provide invaluable lessons for them as the JC experience transitions them from gentlemen in high school to nation builders and leaders.

Current Affairs

JC capitalise on new events at Champs

Two of three new events introduced at this year's ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys' Champs could have helped to decide the home for the Mortimer Geddes trophy for the next 12 months.

JC Rules Champs

Jamaica College (JC) and Holmwood Technical High held off strong challenges from main rivals Kingston College and Edwin Allen High respectively to emerge boys and girls' champions on the final day of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/ GraceKennedy 2011 meet at the National Stadium yesterday.

The Karl Hendrickson Auditorium Opening

The opening was a huge success and was attended by some 350 donors, teachers and students.

This Auditorium as made possible as a result of donations we received from 200 JC Old Boys and in particular a large donation from Karl Hendrickson. As you can see from the pictures the event was an affair to remember. Old friends and classmates on seeing each other, reminisced of their days of yesteryear. It was great to see the camaraderie. It was also great to have Frank Hall, who flew in from Cayman especially for the function and whom I might remind you broke the Norman Manley's 10 sec. record in the hundred yards in 1952. The record had been in existence since 1911.

We say a big thank you to all who supported this magnificent effort and remind you that there is still more to be done.

Work is still burning in the field.

JC's New Main Entrance

The Jamaica College Main Entrance gate ‘new look’ is now a reality!! This reality happened as a result of a team of ‘old boys’ who attended the school in the 1950s and 60s who decided to raise funds from other ‘old boys’ towards a new entrance gate project. Total cost of the project was $8M.
